Visit Northern Norway's oldest pub - Nordpol Kro in Vardø

Nordpol Kro is from 1864 and has been run by the Bredesen family since the 60's. The current owner has run the place since 1985. Nordpol Kro was the last tap and accommodation for Fridtjof Nansen before the FRAM 2 expedition continued towards the North Pole in 1889.

Nordpol Kro is today a vibrant place with a wide offer to our guests. We have a unique atmosphere with an English style. We are sort like a small museum, and most of the decor is taken from Vardø's history. When you enter the door at Nordpol Kro, you immediately feel the good atmosphere and warmth, while you get a deep respect for the place and its history that lies in the walls. An evening at Nordpol kro cannot be described, but must be experienced!
